The 1958 Lions were 4-7-1, and the 59 Lions were 3-8-1. They didn't contend again until 1960, when they finished a game behind the 8-4 Pack in the West.

Then he got hurt, or at least was replaced by Earl Morrall and they won their last three. But in 1961, sure enough, they gave Ninowski the starting job again. Must have had pictures or something. That was another time when Morrall got screwed, apparently. Reminds me of when Mason Rudolph led the Steelers to the playoffs after Pickett went out in 2023. The HC is too stupid to play the right guy.
