I still feel Wilson can play, but his pride I feel, kept him from signing with the Jets and backing up Geno ... His desire just isnt there anymore and despite total offensive numbers including running, he probably wont make the HOF. Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes and Big Ben are ahead of him and if a thrower like Stafford could get his second ring, he might vault over him as well?

The voters have alot of decisions to make between now and the time Mahomes, Jackson and Allen are eligible for election.

Russ’s career seems pretty comparable to Warren Moon.

What parallels stand out to you?

Well, if we are even going to entertain Dave Brown for the Hall of Fame (the Seahawks DB of course, not the Giants QB), then why wouldn't Russell Wilson be an automatic enshrinee?

I don't think his resume is that strong but over time its likely his case get attention of voters (especially in gap years before current top QBs become eligible) Paul

Without a model wife and family, I believe Wilson could find his love for football again in Canada. But, he will never have the extended passing career that Moon had in both leagues. Wilson though, was more affective in the NFL than Moon.

If we just focus on Moon's NFL career (we have no idea if voters considered his CFL career, as PFHOF is only for American professional football as per its charter) he may not have SB or first team all pro... but he was in the NFL top five all-time when he retired for passing yards (3rd), passing touchdowns (4th), pass attempts, and pass completions- Wilson did not achieve those career accomplishments which for Moon was his PFHOF resume that got him elected.

Due to his status as a prolific thrower, Moon got elected despite never winning hardly any playoff games or games away from his various home stadiums. If Stafford can keep adding to his passing stats--another championship wont hurt--he will possibly vault ahead of Wilson in the minds of the voters.

At this point Stafford has a SB,MVP, first team all pro, 3 pro bowls and will certainly retire among top 6 in career passing yards, and passing TDs..could help his case with another good season and SB run, but he may already be well positioned for eventual election to Hall
