Not all that surprised since the guy is a monster, but I was surprised to learn that the Vikings record was still held by Sammy White. In his rookie year in 1976, White put up a 7-210-2 statline against the Lions that featured a 37-yard receiving TD off of an Ahmad Rashad lateral. You'd figure that Randy Moss, Cris Carter or even Adam Thielen would have had a bigger game at some point in history. Jefferson's 223 yards even eclipsed Anthony Carter's 221-yard game against the Niners in the playoffs.

Correct! Hughes had 12 receptions in a 1981 loss to KC.Sonny9 wrote:David HughesBryan wrote:I saw that Justin Jefferson broke the Vikings single-game receiving yardage record. Seattle players hardly ever "get much press" (in the way that guys like Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray "get press". . .just because).sheajets wrote:Seattle had some decent under the radar receivers historically. Obviously Largent sits at the top of the mountain but they had some good players, not flashy or the types who get much press, who had nice careers. Darrell Jackson, Bobby Engram, Baldwin, Joey Galloway.
Always liked Skansi. Not a big producer but had heart and got the job done as a #3 receiver back in that era
I found out not too long ago that Doug Baldwin had one of the best catch percentages (or "lowest drop rates" - however you want to put it) of ANY receiver in the NFL during his career. But he went to only two Pro Bowls and he certainly wasn't hyped up during his career (at least not from a national perspective) the way some players are.
