Tarkenton was probably the most resourceful QB in NFL history and Fouts was a great thrower but I didnt feel either were first ballot worthy. They both played well with terrible defenses but only had about a 7-8 window to lead teams capable of winning it all ... Tarkenton deserves credit as a winner of his NFC titles but once the Chargers got rid of Fred Dean and later Gary Johnson, Fouts chances of winning a SB, probably went with them.
