Two very dominant NFL regular season performances in '68! All fourteen Baltimore Colts regular season games that year average out to a 29-10 final score! For Big D, it was 31-13! A real shame they didn't play each other at all that season; regular or, especially, post! Of Colts' 13 wins, their closest was they beating the Rams in LA by four points in the finale. Their next closest victory was by 8 points, and the rest were by double-digits. Dallas? Their closest of 12 wins was by 9 points, with the rest being in double-digits.
Colts were SO Superior not just that regular season, but demolishing Cleveland - in Cleveland - 34-0!!
NFL 1968 (and 1969 to some extent) was a strange year in that you had so many bad teams in the league, that it probably made the good teams like Dallas and Baltimore appear more dominant than they really were. The NFL had expanded to Atlanta and NO, and you still had weak teams like Philly and Pitt in the mix. Of the 16 teams in the NFL in 1968, only 4 teams won more than 9 games. The Cowboys were the only team in their division with a winning record; the Vikes won their division with an 8-6 mark. The Colts and Browns faced off in the championship game, and the next year they were both beaten by Minnesota in the regular season by a combined score of 103-17. Ack. Followed by Cleveland losing to Minnesota 27-7 in the title game.

Despite an erratic 1968 season in the NFL, the 1968 postseason for both leagues was a historic lesson in revenge motivation. The postseason started off with the Raiders beating the hate-rivaled Chiefs, who will get revenge the following season. In the NFL playoffs, the Browns get revenge over the Cowboys, who not only humiliated them in the 1967 playoffs but creamed them during the regular season, which forced a QB change. The Colts get a tough, determined win over the Vikes, which keeps them sharp for the NFL Championship win over the Browns and revenge for their championship shutout loss to the Browns in 1964 and their only loss in 1968. In the AFL, the Jets finally beat the Raiders when it counts after losing to them in crucial 1966 and 1967 games that possibly could have won them the eastern division.
Then of course SB III, where former Colts, Sample, Baird, Hill and Johnson and HC Ewbank get revenge as Jets over the Colts with Don Shula and Carroll Rosenbloom.

Nice list! Raiders not just above the very Packer team that beat them in SBII, but also above the noticeably better 12-2 Packer team (my personal #2 on this list) that beat KC the year before! I always figured that though the AFL gained substantial ground by '67, their best still wasn't quite ready yet to beat the NFL's best as - in my opinion - evidenced in GB beating them pretty handily; and without Taylor & Hornung. Now the following years, all caught-up and surpassed just like that! Or maybe that 13-1 squad, in Year Two BM (Before Madden), was ready and just so happened to have an "off" day thus SBII should have been much closer.
I see you got those '61 Oilers at #4!! Okay, you now put the final inspiration in to - no, not at all #4 - but place these guys above SD! Tempted so much to place them over '65 Bills, but the whole 'year 6' instead of 'year 2' of the new league makes it this way with me.
Browns at #20? I don't know. I actually considered putting them above those very Raiders shortly after OP, but I think I'll hold tight on that (perhaps due to your inspiration). But still boost them up a few anyway. They weren't that 'plain-Jane' of a championship team. A little more 'bite' to them, I'd think IMO. They did blast Colts, 27-0, after all. Think I'll place Eagles higher as well. A lesser team they were than Cleveland, I think, but still should do so. Got to keep them above '61 Oilers, once again, because of..."year 2". Poor Chargers...decided to drop them a few. I think I'm a bit too hard on them. Maybe (maybe not) making too much of they only beating 7-wins-or-less teams.
Here's my edited list, with ranking from previous list in ()...
1) '62 Packers
2) '66 Packers
3) '63 Bears
