Just think, Art Modell fired three of the best coaches ever.
Brown, Marty and Belichick. Collier was good and resigned.
Marty Schottenheimer passes away
Re: Marty Schottenheimer passes away
Getting rid of Marty (and Earnest Byner) was a mistake (in an issue of The Sporting News from 1993, Ernie Accorsi said that the Bills shouldn't do anything drastic. Accorsi said that he regretted trading away Byner). I don't think that Belichick's firing was, though. Belichick wasn't the Hoodie of today in Cleveland. He had a lot to learn, and the Browns were his training wheel job. And, if he stayed, the team may not have been as good because Ozzie Newsome wouldn't have been in control of personnel like he was starting in 96 for the Ravens.Brian wolf wrote:Just think, Art Modell fired three of the best coaches ever.

Tuna might have went to the Jets anyway but its all speculation. Maybe Belichick would have never found his great QB, though Vinny was capable ...
