I don’t like Mike Curtis for the HoF because his honors are short (2/3/none) and he doesn’t grade out all that well at Ken Crippen’s site in admittedly a small sample size. There are a lot of OLBs from the period not in I’d like to see get in first: Howley, Baughan, Fortunato, Forester, Grantham, and Stratton at the very least, not to mention MLBs/ILBs like Gradishar and Bergey.

No need to rehash the problem with Ken Riley’s HoF argument — John summarized it well. I think he has no case at all beyond a ton of career INTs, amassed because he played forever and got thrown on more often.

Even though Ken Riley was on my list, after hearing the comments about his qualifications, he played corner opposite Lemar Parish, and it's likely teams threw at his side more to avoid Parish that gave him more opportunities for interceptions, another overlooked really good player. Tempts me to start another thread about really good units on otherwise lousy teams (e.g. 70s Bengals secondary, 60s/70s Eagles receivers, etc.) Stay tuned for a post.

I think Lemar Parrish is the best CB Senior not in the HoF as of now — strong honors of 3/8/none, elite level KR, excellent cover corner who however wasn’t much help against the run. Sounds a lot like Deion Sanders, actually — though I doubt he was the cover corner Prime Time was (other than Jim Johnson, however, I’m not sure anyone was).
