After destroying the Cowboys on MNF in mid-November, the Cardinals looked like a Super Bowl team--then soon faded, losing their last three games while Dallas ran the table--until the Super Bowl.

John Madden would have coached against Lombardi, since Washington played at Oakland on MNF in Week 5. Speaking of the Raiders, they started out worse than the Chiefs, going 0-2-1 in their first three games. They won their next two games, then Blanda's five-week miracle run began. They lost in Detroit on Thanksgiving and should have lost their next game at Shea, but Warren Wells caught a Lamonica Hail Mary with one second left to win 14-13. The Raiders finished 8-4-2--even with Blanda's heroics.
