I remember watching that game. The game appeared to be over with New Orleans winning, so I went to bed. The next day, I read the paper and found out that Oakland had won the game. I couldn't believe it.

I also went to bed early (in those times, in Mexico City the Monday Night game was broadcasted one to two hours late depending the daylight saving time in the US), I remember Ken Bordelon's interception return and was surprised seeing Garo Yepremian in a Saints uniform (even it was late in the season, it was the only time that year that the Saints appeared on Mexican TV).

What a gut punch for the Saints this was. They were in the mix for the division title

Had Saints won, that finale at Rams would have been the de facto division championship game.

The hangover lasted through the entire next year, with their 1-15 season proof.

My goodness! Manning completed just two passes to non-running backs.
