Many years ago, I went to Balboa Stadium. They had taken out the roman columns, the entire second tier of stands, most of the first tier of stands...about the only 'recognizable' part remaining was the track encircling the field. Disappointing.

I was in Rock Island, IL a couple years ago on business, and I went to Douglas Park...the site of the alleged 'first NFL game'. It still exists, although now its just basically a Little League ballpark in a questionable neighborhood.

I love the old Bengals photos of when they played in Nippert Stadium. Lots of red brick and old buildings surrounding the field. U of Cincinnati still uses the stadium, but it appears that recent renovations have kind of eliminated the charm of the place.

This is the current state of Triangle Park in Dayton from what I read. My brother in law lives in the Dayton area and we visit every now and then. I’ve been wanting to stop at Triangle Park one of these days and see if there’s a historical marker or anything like that.
