I have more respect for a first cut in camp on the 1976 Buccaneers. At least that was honest competition. The replacement games were not honest competition. Just because the NFL logo is slapped on something doesn't take the stink away. No rings, no sympathy for anyone who didn't get one.
Now I'm curious as to who was the first cut from the 1976 Bucs.

I consider the 6-3 OT game between the Bills and Giants to have been the worst of the replacement games, and also, probably the worst pro football game I have ever seen.

The Jets/Miami scab game was one of the better ones. Wild 37-31 Jets win in OT. Had the expected amount of picks and dropped picks and just general ineptitude but it was entertaining

Larry Cipa was traded for, then failed his physical. But that happened before camp ever opened. Pete Rome and Biff Burrell were cut on July 8th. Rome was a 7th round draft pick of the Bengals in 1976 who failed his physical there. He was only a member of the Buccaneers for a day; who knows if he ever suited up. Burrell was a former USC basketball player. Both were defensive backs.
If neither of them ever suited up, about 10 players were cut on July 11th.
