The ‘91 Eagles D (the scariest D seen by a long time Giants fan) gave up fewer total yards, passing yards and rushing yards than the ‘85 Bears. Fewer total yards and passing yards than the 2000 Ravens.

I’m big on sacks so the ‘85 Bears had 64 sacks to the ‘91 Eagles 54 sacks. Ravens had 35.

48 turnovers for the ‘91 Eagles vs 54 for ‘85 Bears and 49 for ‘00 Ravens. 26 Ints for the Eagles with their “Eric Allen only secondary” vs 23 for the Ravens.

Ravens had what I’d call a Fatboy Defense with 2 big tubs (bigger than Fridge) clogging up the middle. About as exciting as stale bread.

I’ll take the Ryan Bears and Ryan legacy Eagles every time vs the Fat Boys.

The '84 Bears defense doesn't get much love.
~275 less yards given up than '85 but 20 fewer turnovers

'84 has a slightly lower avg/carry 3.6 to 3.7

Sack percentage difference is huge 10.9% in '85 compared to 14.2% in '84

20 less first downs given up in '84 compared to '85

'84 gave up 50 more points but 5 TDs were given up by the offense and special teams. Only 1 time in '85. So that 4 TD difference pushes points given up down to a 22 point difference

But 5 defensive TDs in '85 compared to 1 in '84

And 72 sacks for the 16 game record. And had Al Harris and Todd Bell.

Serious stuff

If only the 84 Bears had a decent QB in the championship game.
