And in 1981 kicker David Trout missed eight extra points. The interesting thing (besides that Pittsburgh kept him the entire season) is that six years later, after a USFL stint, he rejoined the Steelers (but in the strike replacement games and didn't miss an extra point in ten tries).

None of Trout's misses cost the Steelers any games. The previous year, two Matt Bahr misses of PATs both cost the Steelers dearly.

Tom Dempsey missed eight extra points for the Rams in 1976. He missed another (a key one) in the NFC Championship Game loss to the Vikings. And that doesn't count having a chip-shot FG blocked and run back for a TD by Bobby Bryant.
