Week #6, 1995
Expansion Jags beat Steelers 20-16! Beat them again in the following year's opener hence putting an immediate kick-start to a new (and soon enough to be dissolved in '02) divisional rivalry. Cowboys beat Pack yet again, but not before Favre & Co conduct back-to-back scoring drives (sandwiching a 3-and-out forced by Packer D) in the 4th to cut a 31-10 deficit to 31-24 with ample time left. The Boys, however, tack on a field-goal next possession and that was that: 34-24 final. Wyche beats his old team, 19-16, propelling his Bucs to 4-2 (winning the following week as well to make it 5-2). Broncos wallop Pats, 37-3, at Foxboro only to do it yet again the following year in the Shannon Sharpe "send the National Guard" sideline rant game.
Most important, however...FIVE overtime games!
1) G-Men over Zona, 27-21, in a battle of 1-4s.
2) Vikes over Oilers, 23-17.
3) Eagles over Redskins, 37-34, to bring their record to 3-3, beat Giants the following week and never sink back to even 500 again rest of season; not below-500 until '97.
4) At Miami, Harbaugh overcomes 24-3 halftime deficit scoring 24-unanswered to beat Marino's Dolphins, 27-24.
5) MNF, AFC-top-seed-to-be Chiefs beating Chargers, 29-23, making it 5-1.
