This is old file, dome pre- pro football reference, but you can see his career "stats" if you will

Counterpoint- those '76 49ers that were sacking QB's like crazy weren't exactly All-Pros
61 SACKS! In a 14-game season, mind you. Look at the '85 Giants. As steller as that Bears D was that very year, Giants actually led them in sacks with 56.5. Without an LT or Leonard Marshall at his disposal, Floyd's D with the Cards under Hanifan had 59 & 55 sacks in '83 & '84 respectively. He averaged more than 45 per season while with Detroit. If other DCs are put ahead of him, then who would you place ahead of him strictly sack-wise?
56.5 sacks - How does a team have such a total - shouldn't it be a whole number?

Why was Bill Stanfill's 1973 sack total so high? Did Peters/Miami do something different with Stanfill that year? IIRC, that huge season was sandwiched between two 4.5 sack seasons.

Stanfill had a monster game in Week 4 against the Jets, when he had either four or five sacks--depending on the media source.

Peters was a very good defensive tackle for Cleveland, but was one of the first players traded by Art Modell after Paul Brown was fired. Detroit needed a good defensive tackle to take Alex Karras' place in 1963 because Alex was suspended for gambling that year. Modell helped Detroit out by trading them Peters.

Nice to get in good with the other owners I guess. Cleveland received a running back named Ken Webb in the deal.
