I think the Thanksgiving snow game was more boneheaded... because he cost his team the game. (IIRC)

Re: Mt. Rushmore of Follies
it did, I was on sideline, nearly got run over by a TE a couple of plays before as it was hard to get out of the way (wearing Doc Martins), Lett did that about 30 yards in front of me. Wrote my first article in C&PFN about that game. I took photo of OJ wearing leather gloves that looked familiar. The snow was a mix of sleet and snow, looked like little frozen pellets.ChrisBabcock wrote:I think the Thanksgiving snow game was more boneheaded... because he cost his team the game. (IIRC)
But yeah, it cost them the win.

Jim Marshall's wrong way run and the Miracle at the Meadowlands deserve a mention at least.

Jim Marshall. Thankfully, the Vikings won the game.
Edit: Oops. Someone beat me to it.
The Miracle at the Meadowlands was even bigger because it ruined what was a promising first half of the season for the Giants.

The Miracle at the Meadowlands also put the Eagles in the playoffs.JohnH19 wrote:Jim Marshall. Thankfully, the Vikings won the game.

Leon Lett has to be there, and I think you just give him two captions. Or have him fumbling two footballs.
Was it Martin Gramatica who tore an ACL while celebrating a field goal that brought his team to within, like, 30 points of their opponent?

Somebody in the 80's (Drew Pearson I think) tore up his knee doing an end zone TD celebration and missed the rest of the season.

One slight correction. Tasker didn't take his helmet off. That usually wouldn't get you thrown out of a game anyway (although 1997 WAS the first year where removing the helmet would result in a penalty.)JeffreyMiller wrote:Steve Tasker getting thrown out of the final game of his career for taking off his helmet on the field ...
He brushed an official while arguing a call.
My actual Mt. Rushmore would be Jim Marshall's wrong way, Garo's goof, Butt Fumble, and the Miracle in the Meadowlands.
