You would think the game is need of a ratings boost the way CBS News has had a Super Bowl-themed story every night this week. Did people not know it was on?

Wow, that's twice now. OK, here's what with the stupid questions. Mike, there's nobody here who is actually unaware of when or on what channel they can see the Super Bowl. Some of us are joking. Basically, the thread is a discussion of the annual Super Bowl hype, and some of us are making sarcastic or "tongue in cheek" observations. And no, nobody literally is pressing their tongue against their cheek when making the observation, it's just a figure of speech. Even if that might not have been apparent with the opening "Is CBS still planning to show the game" statement, the icon of the laughing face at the end of BD's comment should be interpreted as a signal that it is not meant to be taken seriously.

Of course, CBS can spend its money as it chooses. Still, it does seem like a larger than usual TV ad campaign in terms of production and commercial time that isn't being sold, considering that the idea is to persuade people to do something that they were planning to do anyway.
