Always liked the place. Great atmosphere when it was packed for a Lions game. Perhaps built a little too big. But this place served as Barry Sanders stage for a lot of unforgettable performances. It was so massive and imposing that even when you were indoors, it felt like you were outdoors.
Lions didn't get that many years out of it relative to other teams in their stadiums of the time. Only 26 years. I thought it was perfectly fine when they bolted for Ford Field. Never liked the stacked luxury boxes at Ford.
