Blocked extra point returned to end zone

Maybe I heard of it recently but forgot that if a PAT is returned to end zone, it's TWO points. That's what Michaels just said as I'm watching Broncos/Lions game. IMO, if a blocked PAT is returned to end zone, it should be 1 point, if 2 point conversion is turned over and returned to end zone, it should be 2 plain and simple. Agree?

That's how it is. Section 3 of the rules on scoring was altered to say to "After a touchdown, a Try is an opportunity for either team to score one or two additional points during one scrimmage down." Before that, it was limited only to the team that scored the touchdown. Thus, if the TD scoring team was going for two, it would be two points if the other team got a turnover and ran it back to the opposite end zone.

Here are the relevant sections of the rule:

"After a touchdown, a Try is an opportunity for either team to score one or two additional points during one scrimmage down."

"If a Try results in a touchdown by either team, two points are awarded."

If a kick attempt is blocked and a player for the kicking team picks it up (behind the line of scrimmage) and runs it into the end zone, it becomes a 2-point conversion. If a defender recovers it and runs it into the other end zone, it's 2 points for the defending team.

Basically, all scores on the conversion are 1/3 of the value of a scrimmage down, without regard to who scored or what type of conversion attempt was initiated. A safety for either team rounds up to 1 point.
