Nice story and glad you posted it here. Regardless of Tebow's abilities, or lack thereof, he seems to be a good Christian man. It amazes me how many people dislike him while loudmouths and others are celebrated and hailed as "heroes". We live in the age of the fallen idol and I pray God will continue to guide him. Thanks for the post.

I don't think it's so much dislike as much as it is the overkill that ESPN has given this story for close to a decade. Plus, there's also the eye-rolling attitude of networks like Fox News that the fact that he's so open about his Christianity is the "real" reason he's not being given a chance.

Even comedian Bill Maher, who has ridiculed him in the past, said that he met him in Los Angeles and that he was a very nice guy.

I think Tebow does rub people the wrong way with his religion, but on the other hand, Ray Lewis is a very religious guy also, and if you saw him interviewed after a game, he would talk in the same religious terms that Tebow did, and so did Reggie White.

Tebow has an odd set of talents, he came into the NFL with raw skills, but he had the ability to inspire his team to believe in him, and how a team can be better than the sum of their individual parts, which is something few QB's can do. I still think that spending a couple years sitting on the bench in Denver, with two of the greatest QB's of all time to learn from, Elway and Peyton Manning, working on mechanics, and watching Manning every day, that when it was time for Manning to retire, Tebow would have been like Aaron Rodgers after Favre left Green Bay, ready to tear up the NFL. I think it would have been a good investment for the Broncos to make, but Tebow's religion apparently rubbed Elway the wrong way and Tebow got pretty much run out of Denver on a rail (after his rookie season, even though he was a fan favorite) and barely got a chance in the NFL after leading the Broncos to the playoffs and a playoff victory against the Steelers. I don't think he was really ready to start in the NFL as a rookie, he was overmatched, but there was a competitive spirit there and I think he would have developed into a very good QB in time, given the situation he had in Denver with Elway and Manning. I hope he gets another chance, but the window on his becoming an outstanding is just about closed unless he chooses to try to beef up and become a running back or something like that.
