As a life-long Rams fan, I was very sad to learn of the passing of Lawrence McCutcheon.
An undervalued but outstanding runner, McCutcheon threw the first touchdown pass for the Rams in a Super Bowl.

Re: Lawrence McCutcheon
One of the best backs of the 70's.
Went to Denver in 1980 along with Matt Robinson, but he didn't last, and he went to Seattle after that before finishing his career in Buffalo the next year.

McCutcheon was a darn good running back for the Rams in the 70’s. RIP to him.

I still remember McCutcheon's last two seasons in the league with those three teams. With Seattle he averaged over 5 yards per carry on 40 carries.

Damn, McCutcheon and Pete Banaszak both passed within a day of each other. Being a Raiders fan (and a fellow Polack like Pete), I followed Banaszak more closely than most other backs. Hard-nosed runner, good receiver, lasted 13 seasons with the same club (almost unheard of nowadays). While McCutcheon was def one of the top backs of the '70s and Banaszak had his best seasons that decade, I always associated Banaszak with those Raiders teams of the late '60s, along with Lamonica, Billy Cannon, Blanda, those guys. Anyway, R.I.P. to both men.
