RB Johnny Olszewski (Johnny O) wore "0" with late '50s Redskins and '61 Lions.

Similarly, Jim Otto's rational for wearing 00 was that it meant "Aught O."

I guess it's a thing for LBers to wear 1-19 now? Watching today I noticed the following
Cardinals LBers Sweat #10, Browning #5, Simon #0, Wilson #1
Broncos LBers Cooper #0 and Bonitto #15

I recall that in 1978, Packers rookie LBers John Anderson, Mike Douglass and Paul Rudzinski wore numbers in the 60s, then they changed to numbers in the 50s the next season. It seemed odd at the time.
