In my opinion, the current NFL is a garbage product. The de-emphasis of MNF isn't the major reason, but they should go back to one prime-time game a week. Make MNF great again!!

What about the league makes it garbage in your book, and when did it start to become garbage in your opinion?

When the NFL decided to fix a SB for the Patriots after 9/11. They made an average QB into an icon (and let a team get away with habitual cheating).

Another factor that adds to the retrospective glow of MNF is that in 1990, the NFL mandated that each team must appear on at least one prime-time game per year. Especially during the TNT years, that meant some real dud matchups got thrown into the Thursday night and Sunday night slots.

Youre right 7D on that video ... alot of half-ass effort by many players. The NFL is more about entertainment than contrition which is why the best players utilize their work ethic to beat the players that dog it. It doesnt help that the first three games of the year are about players getting their game conditioning back since they dont play preseason games. As a gambler, I have to look at the teams from week to week to see when theyre actually ready to play football, to determine who I can bet on. After that collapse last week from GB and Carolina, are they ready to play football this week, or wait another week in an 0-2 hole?

I see a lot of old man moaning on here. That’s OK, I am often guilty myself.

There’s been plenty of good SNF games. Especially given the advantage flex scheduling gives that time slot.

We don’t think SNF is as big of a deal because there’s at least three prime-time games per week now. When MNF was at peak popularity it was the only prime time game of the week.

I actually go the other way. I wish MNF would end. Feels like an anticlimax.
