Slight edge to Lambert who was still able to dominate even after the post-1978 rule changes to favor offense

I'd pick Lambert because Nitschke took four years to nail down the starting role. He didn't even start in the 1961 Championship game.

Lambert had a lot of picks (28) but never scored a TD.

I saw Nitschke at the very end of his career. Could he cover as well and play as deep as Lambert in passing situations?
