And somehow Washington used smoke and mirrors to win 2 SB’s because they were literally a ground gene and not much else
You referring to the 1982 and 1991 Redskins?

What’s your opinion of Nat Moore?
He was a good WR, but near the end of his career by 1984.
In 1984 The Dolphins were an excellent team
From 1984-96, there really weren't many excellent teams in the AFC. The 1984 Dolphins were a one-man show, not a team.

Nat Moore was easily a HOVG receiver who could have had over 10,000 career receiving yards had he had more prolific throwers than Griese, Strock and Woodley. Even in 1986, he was still an effective receiver for Marino, soaking up coverage over the middle. If Mark Clayton enters the HOF, he needs to thank Moore for helping him operate with single coverage.

Playing four seasons during the dead-ball era didnt help Moore's numbers either. Imagine had Griese stayed healthy and the Dolphins had kept Freddie Soloman on the team paired with Moore? Instead, the Dolphins replaced Soloman with smaller receivers in Cefalo and Harris.

The Dolphins had an excellent year in 1984 but with Arnsparger leaving after 1983, the defense faltered against good offenses like SD, NYJ and SF ...

The 1984 49ers would have gone 18-1 with Matt Cavanaugh- that’s how easy their schedule was

They didn’t even NEED Joe Montana that year

From 1981-98, the NFC West was, for the most part, a mediocre to bad division. Also, the 49ers didn't have to play in many cold weather games during that time.

Its doubtful that Cavanaugh produces Montana's 103.00 QB rating that 1984 year, much less his 17-1 starting record. Even had Cavanaugh gotten by the Giants in the playoffs, he might not have gotten by the Bears, much less Miami?

Even in 1986, when Buddy Ryan thought he could be the Eagles starting QB, he failed to beat out Jaworski or Cunningham.
