My Seahawks played an excellent defensive game, but it was kinda bland for the first three quarters.

Best Super Bowl since Super Bowl XLVIII, obviously.

Was hoping for the shutout but the guy that ran on the field changed the rhythm of the game there for a bit.

Now have got to see the home state team win two Super Bowls. A long way from seeing Bruce Mathison at QB leading the Seahawks to victory the first time I saw a regular season game in the Kingdome.

It was the double-digit win that many people on this board, including me, predicted, and kind of boring (I hate FGs), though I'm sure everybody enjoyed Lady Gaga's surprise halftime appearance. Well, maybe not everybody.Personally, I like anyone who can pull off wearing a "meat dress" as she did a few years back at some awards show.

But hats off to Seattle's defense. Damn. Guys had smoke pouring out of their earholes.

For young Drake Maye's sake, I hope he doesn't do a Dan Marino and never return to the Big Stage. So hard to get there, and you never know if you'll get a second kick at the can.

They did. I was expecting my team to win, but in a closer game than we had.

Out of curiosity I remember on your other post you were critical of Mike Vrabel. Did Vrabel coach badly in this game in your opinion? There was potentially one fourth down I remember him punting on, but I don’t remember too many gaffes.

If there’s one component of their team that I think is probably as legit as the stats are then it’s the defense. They at least kept holding the Seahawks to field goals for several drives, and the Seahawks only offensive touchdown came in the 4th quarter; I believe after a turnover by our own defense.

New England is in my opinion an ok team; if you make a Super Bowl even if you had favorable circumstances then I’d say you have improved from what they were the previous season.

But they aren’t as good as their record and stats read (at least as a team), and I can’t help but wonder if they are beating Denver if Nix is healthy, and if Denver would’ve lost as badly towards the end because their defense is at least as good as New England’s I would say.

Congrats to Seattle, a worthy champ, but it was a forgettable game that appropriately capped a pretty mediocre season.

Guess I was alone - or among the few - who enjoyed last night’s game. Great defensive units, few penalties and a strong running game by Seattle - love how Walker stands flat-footed and completely upright before the snap.

I'm SO GLAD I was wrong! Again, it was just a bad feeling going in; what do I ever know? The Pats-D did play stout, though. Maybe if the game was close, Gonzalez could have had himself a Chuck Howley-like MVP case, lol. What a GAME he played, and all in vain! He helped prevent the game from getting too far away from NE, for sure.

Seahawks-D even better, but NE's two rookie OLs' struggle-some performances was helpful. I like an old-school defensive game. Many say it was 'boring' but even if I didn't like defensive struggles, I would have found it exciting, late, rooting for that first-ever Super Bowl shut-out.

Mark Moseley was the NFL MVP in '82. I was wondering if Jason Meyers was going to be the first KICKER to ever win a SB MVP!

No politics, please (again - no politics, please) but Bad Bunny's performance reminded me of the Super Bowl XIII halftime show albeit Bad Bunny's show being quite the latter-day ON-STEROIDS version.

Even if you feel 2013 is still the best-ever Seahawks team, I'd like to think there is nice-enough room for debate between both 'The Legion of Boom' & 'The Dark Side'! Both Emerald City World Champs to be looked back upon on not just winning the SB, but seen as the best team in the league in their respective seasons. I really would have liked seeing Nix stay throughout the playoffs however long Denver would have lasted. Most-likely Broncos play yesterday in that scenario; and though it may have been a closer game, 'Hawks still take it, I think, thus still hoist the Lombardi.

I still felt the Legion Of Boom was better. Got away with more back then and shut down a better offense in the SB with Denver. Was #1 defense through 2015 and went to consecutive SBs ... We will see what this Darkseid--remember the DC character?--defense can do for an encore?

In hindsight, the real SB was the NFC Championship game. Its too bad Stafford couldnt get the Rams into the endzone on 4th down.
They had all the momentum at that time.

Had the Rams played the Patriots, I believe the Rams win but a closer score. I dont believe the Rams defense would have did what the Dark Side defense did to NE. I still believe the Patriots should have ran the ball more against Seattle.
