Super Bowl LX, 2/8/26 Levi's Stadium
I really want the Seahawks to win! And, preferably, lopsided! Those B&B Pats of the first two decades of, this, very 21st Century still gives bad taste in my mouth! Yes, the they always beating my Steelers when it mattered most (and Vrabel leaving us then going to NE to win his SBs)!
And I really wanted the 'Hawks to repeat in 2014 which they, sadly, came up just SO very short!
I hope I'm Dead-as-DEAD wrong in this, but I have a real bad feeling...this very event can end up resembling ten years ago, SBL, Carolina/Denver. Those 17-1 Panthers really seemed like they were going to win, and win convincing-enough! Broncos, for some reason, wore their white jerseys instead of their darks as the Pats are doing this very Sunday. Not an outrageously un-suspenseful game, but not a 'Classic' either. Both D's playing stout but the underdog winning by more than a TD; actually, exactly, TWO TDs - 24-10!
Well...I really hate to predict (and SO HOPE I'm DEAD-wrong), but I'm feeling the PATS pulling it off! Their D doing it for them, making Darnold do Neil O'Donnellean things! No, the Hawks' D will do great things as the Panthers did vs Broncos ten Februarys ago (as Orange Crush, themselves, did vs Big D in that first-ever dome-SB, Jan '78), but Pats, somehow get the 'W'. No, not by 14, but how about 26-17?
And, AGAIN, geez I hope I'm WRONG!!

Really, I'm mostly watching for the commercials and Bad Bunny. Those Super Bowl parties with brothers and friends---pizza and cold cuts and poker, windows throw open on a 10-degree nite to air out the cigarette smoke and farts, stumbling out to the car at 3 a.m.---have gone the way of Tom Landry's fedora. Good times while it lasted.
Anyhoo, I have gut feeling it's gonna be the Hawks, and by double digits. Or maybe that gut feeling is from having my sister-in-law's Christmas leftover cheese/potato pierogis for lunch today. Kinda soggy (the pierogis, not my SIL).

File it under Memoir. Super Bowl Sunday was kind of like deer camp, what with the vats of chili and horrendous beer farts, but with fewer firearms.ChrisBabcock wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 11:14 pm Thr above post was a work of art. Not sure what genre.![]()

Haha ... I agree with Richard, the Seahawks are the stronger team but I feel its the Patriots year --except for Belichick-- and they will win a close game. Pulling for the Seahawks though. I kept shaking my head at the injury-riddled seasons for Kenneth Walker but now he has the offensive line to possibly show off in this game. That young line stood up to the Rams, can they do the same against NE?
This is the time of the year you want a winning streak to continue, can the Hawks win their tenth game in a row?
Can former Bills, Hollins and Diggs finally get a ring? The police are conveniently waiting after the SB to go after Diggs.
Great matchups of Witherspoon against Diggs, Gonzalez or Davis against Smith-Ngiigba. This game could be big for the tight ends, Henry for NE and Barner for Seattle. NE has to account for Shaheed but the Seahawks need to worry about the young player Williams, who has speed but not the best hands.
Henderson could also be a factor. He has hit the wall during the playoffs with Stevenson getting the bell-cow carries but with an extra week off, he could make some noise.

Seahawks 27, Patriots 10
It would be nice to see a comfortable win for Seattle. It shouldn't be a blowout like Super Bowl 20 but it would be nice to see the Patriots lose in convincing fashion.

I want to be wrong but my gut is telling me,
New England - 23
Seattle - 16
I see this matchup and it just still feels like an all AFC Super Bowl. Even though they've been in the NFC for 2 decades now

Re: Super Bowl LX, 2/8/26 Levi's Stadium
If we go by final score, biased as I may be, I predict the Seahawks win 34-21.
The biggest determining factor as I’ve said a couple times this season is how our offensive line holds up against New England’s defense. Though in the NFC Championship Game, our defensive line didn’t play its best I thought.
One thing that also deserves a mention about this Super Bowl:
Jaxon Smith Njiba averaged over 100 receiving yards per game this season.
If the Seahawks win it all, he will be just the third receiver to average 100 yards per game in a regular season of at least 16 games in length, and have his team win the Super Bowl thereafter.
The others are his teammate Cooper Kupp in 2021, and Michael Irvin in 1995.
Also, deserving a shoutout are Charley Hennigan in 1961, Bill Groman in 1960, Elroy Hirsch in 1951, and Jim Benton in 1945 who all averaged 100 receiving yards per game in championship seasons when the schedule was 14 games or less, and the postseason was intended to just be a championship game with any rounds before it being tiebreakers.
My theory as to why fewer players who were higher in receiving yardage have won championships in the same year (apart from other issues the teams had) could be that if you have one target that is clearly the best on the team, then defenses will scheme against that player heavily, and if the targets around him can’t take advantage of the extra coverage the top player draws, then the offense will be more predictable and easier to disrupt.
Back to the Seahawks, I’d say the receivers outside of Smith-Njigba have taken advantage of the coverage he draws pretty well this year, and if they can do that in this game, then that’ll make it really tough for New England’s defense.
