Overjoyed and also BIG congratulations to number 33!!

I'm glad I (and he) are alive to finally see it happen.

Roger Craig got in, and very well deserved! Congrats to him!

There is one question I have though: Could he have gotten in sooner if the 49ers threepeated and the fumble in the 1990 NFC Championship Game never happens?

Congratulations to Roger Craig, I guess. I can't be particularly excited about any of the Seniors making it to Canton, because I thought they were all HOVG material. But I thought the same about Harold Carmichael and Jimbo Covert and Floyd Little and Ken Riley and Steve McMichael.

I thought that Anderson was the best candidate of the three Seniors, but Craig is the only one who wouldn't reset the HOF floor at his position. That is only because Little had already made it in.

Adam, who are your top seniors not in Canton? If you want to do it by position + the current floor, that would be interesting. But even just your list of most pressing players. I know Sestak is one of them.

If they three-peated, then yes, though I don't get the feeling that people collectively hold that fumble against him. I certainly don't hear about it the way I hear about Byner's fumble, or Jackie Smith's drop, or Norwood's miss, or Cam not diving for the football, etc. etc.

I think the bigger thing with Craig is that he had a relatively short period of great play, and his greatness was outside the norm of what greatness looked like at the position. It makes his OPOY and his NEA MVP all the more impressive.

The big missing piece that held him back, in my view, was not getting SB MVP in XIX. I think the absence of that hurt his Hall odds way more than the fumble.

100% agreed him not getting the mvp in super bowl 19 after his three touchdown performance hurt him in the long run

Adam i would also be interested in a list of your top seniors not in canton

Should he have gotten that Super Bowl MVP in your opinion?

And one of the players you mentioned above, Jackie Smith ultimately made it to Canton, though I’m sure that slowed it down.

I’ve seen Smith on some websites lists of worst players to make the Hall of Fame, but none of those articles ever mention his blocking.
