Re: Class Of 2026 Coaching Candidates
Basically commenting on Contributors in this thread as well. Some good choices with other questionable choices but happy as hell that Vainisi can have a chance to advance. Happy for Shaughnessy, Wells and Giddings. I will comment on Buddy Young later, who was a better player than executive. I mentioned on Zoneblitz.com, a candidate who along with Bernie Parrish, Byron Donzis, Dick Haley, Tony Razzano, Peggy Parratt, Leo Lyons and others, should also be considered ... GM Don Kellet of the Baltimore Colts, who also came close to replacing Bert Bell as Commisioner ...

Re: Class Of 2026 Coaching Candidates
With Belichick and possibly Kraft getting the nominations this year, will voters put either in before the senior nominees? Would a senior player get voted in before Kraft? I am hoping its a deserving senior player along with Belichick.
If I voted, I would put in Brees, Witten, Kuechly, Dilweg, Wistert and Belichick as my Class Of 2026.

Are we sure Belichick is done coaching in the NFL?
Per the Hall of Fame "The only restrictions are that a player must have been retired at least five years before he can be considered, and a coach retired from pro football for one season."
Has the Hoodie been blackballed?
(Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write....)

Thanks.
It's great to see Marty on here. Maybe I am in the minority, but he is a coach who I feel should be in the HOF, especially if guys like Dick Vermeil and Bill Cowher are in. He's maybe the greatest coach ever not in the HOF who has 200+ career wins.

With Daboll's firing the rumors of Belichick to NYG were inevitable. He would be 74 if he comes back for 2026 (Carroll's age, and he's the oldest active HC in NFL history)JuggernautJ wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 3:23 am Are we sure Belichick is done coaching in the NFL?

Would he just up and walk out on UNC? Absolutely he would

Just on the off chance that happens (Belichick were to get the Giants [or any other NFL coaching] job) is he automatically disqualified from the HoF for this season?

Re: Class Of 2026 Coaching Candidates
No ... his eligibility is still intact. Only needed to be away one full season, unless the Giants were to hire him soon, which I dont see happening until after the season. He will probably be voted in during January.
If he dumped his girlfriend or made sure she wasnt anywhere near or involved in the Giants organization, the Giants should hire him.
He has the QB and talent on this team. He could turn them around.
Mike McCarthy is rumored to be the leading candidate.
