A bizarre sequence at the end of the Philly-GB game. Why didnt GB just go for the Hail Mary? I guess LaFleur didnt believe Love could pull it off like Aaron Rodgers? Tough to kick a 64 yrd FG in adverse conditions. Just seemed like the Eagles out-toughed the Packers. The Packers receivers left too many balls on the turf with Love getting harrassed on the edges. Jacobs is a tough back but the late fumble decided the game. Thought it would be more a pre-snap penalty before the play.
Re: 2025 NFL season, Wks #10 thru #13
Jets at one point had about a yard of total offense and led Cleveland 14-7, their first two scores were on a kick return and a punt return. Cleveland loses a game where they give up less than 175 yards of total offense and never turn the ball over themselves
We've been on the wrong side of a lot of things like this, nice to finally be on the right side

Agreed! As much as so many of us yearn for the old days, this very AFC situation IS exciting! The CHIEFS, the two (Bills, Ravens) who still try to get by them when it matters (playoffs), and then this Thunderin' Herd of Big Bad Newbies who just may be the One to supplant instead. Let's simply see this Battle Royal/smash-up-derby-like 'collision-course' play out!JuggernautJ wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 7:06 pm It is going to be interesting to see (imo) who will rise out of the AFC.
Will it be the new guard of Denver, Indianapolis and New England or the old, tried and true triumvirate of Buffalo, Baltimore and Kansas City?
No doubt it will be some mix of those but the contrast between the new and the old is exciting to watch.
The 49ers are playing way over their injury-ravaged talent level.
It is amazing to see their effort and accomplishment with all the injuries they've had to deal with this season.
Considering the players they lost in the off season they were not predicted to do well in the NFC West. Add in the injuries and they are a shell of their former selves from just 2 seasons ago... but they keep on plodding along.
With each subsequent injury I've expected the team to fold up and lose out but somehow they manage to stay motivated.
They lost badly this weekend and I would not be surprised to see them fold from here on out (especially with the Rams and Seahawks playing so well in their division) but they've surprised me so far... I won't be surprised to be further surprised...
Yes, Wolf, don't count the Texans out! They're my fantasy defense and I'll KEEP it that way, but I'm thinking KC, Buf, Balt, Den, Indy, Pats, and Chargers would make for a sick 7-team tourney - and from one who hated that many from each conference getting in from the get-go. If my Steelers 'ruin' it by getting in instead of one of those, of course I won't complain! Just like I didn't complain when it was they and Miami in the '84 AFCCG instead of...Elway/Marino!
And San Fran...yes, give Respect! Playing through injuries! A testament to Kyle. Sad thing though...he may end up not ever winning a Lombardi. But we'll see. I DID say the same thing about Peyton going into 2005 (only for my Steelers to 'seem' to further confirm it in that year's divisonal).
I'm in a second-half-of-season weekly elimination betting pool at work! Considering that "everyone" will be picking the Pats, I may say, "LIVE a little" and pick the J-E-T-S, JETS and try to win the whole thing in one swipe, LOL!sheajets wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 11:41 am Jets at one point had about a yard of total offense and led Cleveland 14-7, their first two scores were on a kick return and a punt return. Should I? Not sure that Vrabel & Co are the 'let-down' type after what they did at Tampa, but twist my arm if you may.

Out of curiosity, I can't help but ask given that these are the top two teams by SRS on Pro Football Reference:
Who wins between Rams and Seahawks this weekend?
Who wins between Rams and Seahawks this weekend?

Don't do it. Never bet on the Jets. No Garret Wilson either...Fields is horrible. Classic short week trap game scenario...but the Jets don't have the personnel to pull it off. And Vrabel is just a far better coach than Glenn74_75_78_79_ wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 7:39 pmAgreed! As much as so many of us yearn for the old days, this very AFC situation IS exciting! Jets may hang around and be in it at the half but this feels like a 23-13 loss or something like that

Vrabel is an overrated coach getting fat off a weak schedule just like he did in Tennesseesheajets wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 12:46 pmDon't do it. Never bet on the Jets. I agree regarding NE's soft schedule thus far, and Vrabel thus far in his career is 62-47 as HC. He's pretty good. Wish we had a guy like that...I wouldn't put him in the top tier of NFL coaches, but he's certainly in that 2nd tierCSKreager wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 1:44 pmVrabel is an overrated coach getting fat off a weak schedule just like he did in Tennesseesheajets wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 12:46 pmDon't do it. Glenn I don't even know. He reminds me a bit of Herman Edwards. If he has that kind of coaching tenure for us it wouldn't be so bad. Went to the playoffs a few times, won some playoff games.

Weak schedule or not--after four wins last year-- the Patriots will easily have +6 wins or more this year. Its good to be a Patriots fan; especially with Belichick, Kraft, Gronk, Brady and possibly Vinny coming up for HOF election ...
I felt Herm Edwards should have done more with his Jets team. They had alot of talent at that time.

In retrospect I think they did the best they can to play to the strengths of that squad. Vinny was old and still prone to the bad turnover, and Chad even before the injury really couldn't push the ball down the field...just didn't have the arm strengthBrian wolf wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 5:28 pm Weak schedule or not--after four wins last year-- the Patriots will easily have +6 wins or more this year. 2004 season they should've beaten Pitt and gone to the AFC Championship (no way they beat NE) but still that loss was horrific and a wound that never heals
Re: 2025 NFL season, Wks #10 thru #13
The differences in the schedule between Buffalo and New England is just games. New England gets the Raiders, Titans and Giants while the Bills get the Chiefs, Texans and Eagles. Yes those two games, there is a big difference
So far, against similar scheduled opponents, New England is 8-1 and the Bills are 5-3
