I liked last night's game -Phi-GB

Post by JohnTurney »

reminded me of 1990 NYG-SF

thought it was entertainging and all the obvious stuff ... but it's not what NFL has wanted in a generation or two or more.

According to ESPN research, which isnt always reliable, it was only the fifth game in the last ten years that had a 0-0 halftime score. The Packers have the talent, but the Eagles are better and probably more tougher. LaFleur can coach but his teams just never have enough of the killer instinct. Can they find it by postseason? They still have to beat the teams they are supposed to beat.

It's interesting how the two Prime Time games that were played on Thursday (Raiders-Broncos) and yesterday that finished with the same 10-7 score have different opinions.

It was like the football we had back in the early 70s. After the 1973 season, the NFL made many rules to de-empathize both the defense and the kicking game. The game last night was still exciting because of the crip play of the lineman from both teams. The only complaint for me was the fumble from Jalen Hurts in the first quarter. The late pass on fourth down rather than a punt was risky. Nevertheless, the Eagles defeated a quality team away from home. Next week the Eagles play the Detroit Lions which will be an even greater challenge.

Count me in as another one who really enjoyed it. You don't need video game scoring for good football. The NFL has sort of manipulated things with the rules so that it has more and more of those Chiefs/Bills playoff endings, where basically nobody can stop anybody else (and if they do the flags fly to give the offense who has the ball new life) and the lead changes hands like 5 times in the last few minutes
