"New" biography of Don Meredith by Dave Lieber, published on July 3, 2024.

I bought the book as soon as I saw it announced and couldn't wait to read it. Frankly, I was disappointed. Lieber is not a sportswriter. He's the "Watchdog" columnist for the Dallas Morning News.

I'm not saying you must be a sportswriter to author a sports biography, but I think it helps. After reading Lieber's book, I couldn't help thinking that Meredith deserved much better.

I gave the book two stars on Amazon, and I thought I was being generous.

That's a shame. I would love to read a good bio of Jeff & Hazel's baby boy.

I remember in my early 20's helping build the bank there in Mt. Vernon around 2007 and going to the Don Meredith museum in town on our lunch break one day, very cool. I don't think that is there anymore or the amazing BBQ joint either.
