On this All Hallows Eve what are some notable football games from 10/31 that you remember?
I’ll start with 1988 Broncos at Colts: Eric Dickerson’s 4 touchdowns in the 1st half, Indy won 55-24 for the biggest Monday Night Football blowout in 36 years on ABC

I saw a graphic somewhere else today (pro-football-reference newsletter?) with all the all time leaders in various stat categories for 10/31. I was a bit amazed that the all time TD pass leader in Halloween games was Sammy Baugh with 10.

I was at that Colts-Broncos game. It was 45-10 at halftime. My buddy and I, HS-aged, were contemplating a record point total.
The funniest thing about that game came late when Denver tried an onside kick for reasons only they could explain in a 55-23 game. Colts tight end Pat Beach recovered the kick and went 39 yards, nearly scoring a TD that would have clicked it over the 60-point mark.
Everyone there also nerded out with MNF “masks” as it was MNF’s first broadcast from Indy.

They came in two games. 6 in 1943 vs. The Brooklyn Dodgers and 4 in 1948 vs. The Boston Yanks.ChrisBabcock wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 3:03 pm I saw a graphic somewhere else today (pro-football-reference newsletter?) with all the all time leaders in various stat categories for 10/31. The first two games that came to my mind:
1983 Redskins 27-24 win over Chargers. Moseley missed multiple FGs before the game winner. Washington also intercepted the Charges 5 or 6 times but blew a 24-7 lead before the game winner.
1994 Packers @ Bears. The Packers won 33-6 but the weather made that game memorable.

The 1926 Halloween game between the Detroit Panthers and Canton Bulldogs is interesting only for what happened nearby off the field. That Sunday afternoon at Detroit's Navin Field, while Gus Sonnenberg's two FGs gave the Panthers a 6-0 victory over the Bulldogs of Jim Thorpe and Pete Henry, magician Harry Houdini died inside Grace Hospital. He died of peritonitis, the result of a ruptured appendix.
