2026 Hall of Fame Seniors - Last 52 Ranked by Position Group

Post by SeahawkFever »

I decided to take a look at the seniors that are still listed after one cut and rank them among listed positions.

It feels more apples to oranges to rank players of different positions in one list in my opinion.

Quarterbacks:
Ken Anderson
Charlie Conerly
Roman Gabriel
Jack Kemp
Don Meredith

I’d be fine with Anderson, and Conerly making it in.

Running Backs:
Roger Craig
Cecil Isbell
Chuck Foreman
Ottis Anderson
Larry Brown
Tank Younger

I’d vote for Craig and Isbell among the running backs.

Wide Receivers & Tight Ends:
Lavvie Dilweg
Harold Jackson
Henry Ellard
Art Powell
Stanley Morgan
Otis Taylor
Mark Clayton
White Shoes Johnson
Isaac Curtis

I’d vote for Dilweg, Jackson, Ellard, and maybe Powell

Offensive Linemen:
Al Wistert
Jim Tyrer
Joe Jacoby
Jay Hilgenberg
Marvin Powell
Bob Kuechenberg
Mike Kenn
Chris Hinton
Walt Sweeney
Dick Schafrath
Jerry Sisemore

I’d vote for Wistert, Jacoby, Hilgenberg, Powell and Kuechenberg. Would not vote for Tyrer, but I’d say best case of anyone here other than Wistert.

Defensive Linemen:
Harvey Martin
L.C. Greenwood
Jim Marshall
Too Tall Jones

I’d vote for Martin, Greenwood and Marshall.

Linebackers:
Tommy Nobis
Maxie Baughan
Larry Grantham
Lee Roy Jordan
Mike Curtis
Clay Matthews
Carl Banks
Matt Millen

This one seemed tough to order, but I’d vote for Nobis, Baughan, and Grantham.

Defensive Backs:
Lester Hayes
Dick Anderson
Everson Walls
Lemar Parrish
Bobby Boyd
Eddie Meador
Albert Lewis
Pat Fischer

I’d vote for Hayes, Anderson, Walls, and Parrish personally.

And lastly, Steve Tasker I’d be ok with either way. If you don’t want to vote for a pure special teamer, I could see it, but if you think he should be in because he is considered the best ever gunner on special teams, I could see that too.

What do you all think?

To be honest, I dont think the 25-30 semifinalists will change much from last year. The only possible surprises might be, Ellard, Hilgenberg, Marvin Powell, Sweeney and Brown. Would be nice if Dilweg replaced Sharpe. Will Baughan, Powell and Tyrer continue to advance despite recent voting denial of their endorsed committee selections?

It will mostly focus on more recent seniors

I'd imagine most of the voters who voted last year will be voters again? If so, then you'll probably see many of the same players continue on.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think the players I listed will all advance, just saying that those are the players I could see myself voting for if I had a vote.

We at least know that 2025 semifinalists Plunkett, Sharpe, Emerson, and Kunz will be replaced this year ... who will fill those spots? I am hoping its Dilweg, Hilgenberg, Parrish and Tasker but Devin Hester's election buries Tasker. I would go with Schafrath.
