Then you have Elias/NFL manipulating 'beans' (stats) so people can set (fake) records (see: Single-season passing yardage record) calling into question the integrity of the entire stat-keeping process. So then when someone is making the argument that P. Manning is the greatest of "all-time" (apparently the world has ended, I missed the memo) they're not only extremely likely to be using stats out of context, while inflating the relevance of stats, but the numbers themselves will be incorrect as well.
