Ken Anderson vs Boomer Esiason vs Joe Burrow

Post by 74_75_78_79_ »

Does Burrow have a big enough sample size for he to be included in a convo with these two other Bengal QBs who led them to a Super Bowl? Sure-enough Greg Cook would have been head-and-shoulders above all three if not for injuries.

Overall thoughts?

Burrow is too much a daredevil in the pocket ... his body wont make it to ten years. The NFL needs him though

The Red Rifle, Dalton did well but was snake-bitten in the playoffs.

Carson Palmer is still ahead of Joe Burrow in most passing categories too.

Can Ken Anderson make the HOF this year? I still feel he was the best in franchise history but like Esiason, couldnt win enough big games

Burrow is clearly the best relative to his contemporaries, but he needs to stay healthy and getting out of Cincy is probably the best way to accomplish that. He'll never win a SB there.

Could it be argued that Anderson is a Hall of Famer, and Esiason is Hall of Very Good?

Its tough and close ... as a thrower, Anderson is a HOF but is lacking in big team wins. I say HOVG but wouldnt complain HOFer. Esiason as a thrower is HOVG but overrall misses both.
His prime ability was too short. Couldnt elevate the talent around him enough in my view. Palmer was just as good a thrower but had selfish teammates.
