Personally I think he's the best kicker I've ever seen even across eras. But obviously recent developments have complicated things. I'm already going to assume it's not going to end up going well for him given the amount of women that have come forward, and apparently this was a thing that had been happening the last decade (there are even old tweets/messages online from years back) but it was just kept hush-hush locally in Baltimore.
I'll put it this way. If Justin Tucker randomly decided to retire without any dark cloud now over his head, I think he'd get in even if he didn't play as long as some other notable kickers. His prime was that good. He's struggled recently, but whether or not he'd bounce back we might not know since his career could be over.
As it stands now, if he doesn't play again due to just not being able to get another opportunity does he get in? What do you think?
If Justin Tucker is found out to be a true dirtbag is his HOF chances over?

Like I said on the Jim Tyrer thread, Tucker will get a pass like Ray Lewis did. Though Lewis perjured himself and pressured his limo driver into perjuring himself--or was it lawyers from the Ravens?--he gets the benefit of a doubt from everyone. Even with potential CTE, Tyrer doesnt get that benefit, unless the voters stick to the written by-laws and finally elect him.
Tucker may need to settle quickly, before other buzzards join the feeding frenzy, so this can be forgotten quickly, but he still should make the HOF easily. How will it affect him psychologically? Will his kicking continue to suffer? Did the threats of litigation affect this past season?

Guilty or not, mistakes in dealing with therapists or not, future HOF kicker, Tucker has been released by the Ravens. I doubt he will retire, unless the evidence is overwhelming and teams wont touch him ... Who will give him his next shot?

A talked to a few voters in Feb, said they didn't think he's even HOFer. I think at his peak he's the goat (based on how much better he was than his peers) plus good distance and clutch ... plus 'alls'Ness wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 6:49 am Personally I think he's the best kicker I've ever seen even across eras. He's started a late-career fade -- for me, he's #1 kicker, so if JS and MA are in ... but the one ding is 13 years --- in his era kickers go 20 years. ...
So if he didn't have these allegations, I think he'd like still get in, but would talk a while.
These things are so disappointing ... I liked him ... now, cannot ever feel the same.
Begs the question was the "max" kicking ... will anyone very have a career average of 90%? So close, but is there enough stuff that happens that after 13, 14 18 years that 90 isn't possible, meaning a kicker can do everything right, but with weather, blocks, had snaps and hold plus the fact kickers cannot be perfect even if everything is perfect ...
Boswell, Butker ... we'll see what happens with the position

^I think for an entire career, Vinatieri was better than Tucker is... even though at this moment, Tucker is still playing. But a big question is, 2024 is that the begin of a downslope for Tucker or just an anomaly season? Vinatieri arguably did not go downhill in his performance until his mid-40s... he was still a Pro Bowl & first-team all-pro choice at 42 years old in 2014.
And it cannot be forgotten Vinatieri's game-winning kicks in back-to-back-to-backs Super Bowls XXXVI & XXXVII... his FG against the Eagles in XXXIX held up as the winning score.

Vinitieri have have had the better career, based on things we look at, but when you look at Ruperts and Chase Stuart's work -- and it based on kicks, distance, and done year by year to account for era, Vinitieri was about average accuracy --- and yes, that includes his slight "fade"sluggermatt15 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:53 am ^I think for an entire career, Vinatieri was better than Tucker is... even though at this moment, Tucker is still playing. Tucker, is far above his peers, which is really amazing since there is a finite percentage (100%) that can be reached. So him having more pointsaboveaveragein a tougher era, is more rare than Stenerud or others being above guys in a 65% era, for example.
Either way, Tucker may be going into a fade, but when you look at his all pros, clutch kicking and points above average, to thispoint, he's had a better career ... but he has along way to go to match Viniteiri's longevity and he does not have a few signaturegame winning kicks, like you mentioned.
His issue is he's turned out to not be the kind of person you root for.
