winning record, yes, as long as they had Dickerson, that online and their defense which was still pretty good at a couple of things -- stopping the run and defending deep passes. They could be dinked and dunked to death. They would not have done better ... but no, he was never going to be
a guy who could challenge Giants, 49ers, Redskins or Bears ... but he would have been a limited guy who you could go 9-7 or 10-6 with, with running game and top 5-8 defense
Thanks ... Kemp seemed to get buried on the Seahawks team but you wonder if he could have helped a Bears, Cowboys, Raiders or other teams that had health issues with their starters? He later tried to help the Eagles but couldnt acclimate quick enough.

Apropos of very little, I swear there was NFL Films footage of Bum getting his cowboy hat stolen off of his head at Atlanta when he was Saints coach. It was late in his time in New Orleans.
I saw it in on Inside The NFL at the time, but have never been able to find footage of it.
I believe it also happened after the '79 AFCCG at Three Rivers. I, a Steeler-fan, would never dream of doing such a thing even during my most immature years! Especially if my team...WON! I always had too much respect for him (and that entire 'Luv Ya Blue' team in-general, even if they were division-rivals).

There is no doubt he had a big arm. But he threw a flat ball. And that hurt his accuracy., But he was smart, a good game manager, could hold the fort for a while, but never someone you'd want to start. I will put it these wqay, there were sure worse backup QBs.
And you have to give him credit, a winning record in 1984 ... with run game/D.
