Weird Jets-Dolphins 78-82 stat

Post by Bryan »

Walt Michaels' Jets went 7-0-1 against Don Shula's Dolphins from 1978-1981. In 1982, Michaels' Jets lost to Shula's Dolphins 3 times (in a 12 game regular/postseason schedule).

Yea it was a very Jetsian thing to happen - though I mean Miami was due to get a few against us after that 7-0-1 run.

I thought Matt Robinson won some of those games for the Jets but he just won 1 game. Todd to Walker, before Arnsparger finally held the duo in check ...

Were the Dolphins significantly better in 1982 than the years immediately before?

I will say that when I looked at the best records in the five year windows, Miami came up as the best team that didn’t make a conference championship game in the second half of the 70’s.
