Eagles Defeat Rams 30 to 22 Thriller

Post by LeonardRachiele »

After Isiah Rogers' return of a fumble inside the Ram 10, I was all set to go up by 23 to 15. I felt that settling for a field goal would cost us the game. The defense also went into prevent too early. Los Angeles moved down the field quickly. As for Jake Elliot, extra points seem much more difficult than field goals. Just a guess but there might be more pressure on short field goals and extra points than on long field goals. Everyone expects the kicker to make the short ones.

Haha ... an impressive Philly win at 28-22 but like I stated in the divisional playoffs thread, the Rams had their chances to pull it out. The Commanders moved the ball on the Eagles in their last matchup but will Daniels handle the elements for this game?
The elements also affected the mind-set of AJ Brown and he better be more of a factor in the passing game if the Eagles are to win. I predict the Commanders will win another shootout.

With the Eagles up 28-15, it did seem like the Eagles went into a prevent-type defense too soon, like you said, Leonard. The Rams marched down and scored a TD in little over a minute and then with a huge catch by Nacua, were poised to pull the game out but Carter snubbed it out. Two sacks and a huge forced fumble, after the Rams got the safety. Eagles fans have to enjoy this game on their DVR-s ...

Rams defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse gambles on the last long run of Barkely, got out of his gap and Barkley ran right through it. As good adverse was as a pass rusher and as many run stuff as he made, he was responsible for several long runs this year.

That one gave up the quick 6.

Eagles, for some reason, when they got the ball back, passed the ball on second down. They wanted to get a quick completion but Hurts had been off all day, playing slow, something --- holding the ball ... the clock kept moving, but the loss of yards prevent any shot at a first down.

Eagles had run the ball against 8-man fronts and on 2nd down, you'd think they would have run it again ... maybe they get 1 years, maybe they get 7 ... but in either case, there is makable 3rd down.

Hurts -- did not look good in the passing game to me .. and overall hasn't this year. Could be an issue this week. If they win, will be issue in Super Bowl, to beat KC or Buffalo -- if Philly gets there -- they will have to be much more effective in the passing game.

Does Verse remind you of Terrell Suggs, John, or do the Rams move him around more? He seemed to play alot on the right side of the offensive formation ...

Verse is about 2/3 on the right and 1/3 on the left.
