I felt Lance Mehl was a good linebacker for a few seasons. Had 7 interceptions in 1983. Was done by 1988.

Yeah, I'd call him a poor man's Jack Ham --- in the realm of Clay Matthews, Bru and the others. Good players, even very good, but not quite as good as Ham -- who was from Penn State, like they were. That's kind of where I was going with that.
