Ryan 'back' in Buffalo
Neat little thing to click onto below. Buddy as the new DL-coach University of Buffalo (6 years before SBIII) and look who's at his left?

Would have never guessed it was him.

I don't know who that is but it isn't Buddy Ryan.
Re: Ryan 'back' in Buffalo
I looked back at team photos and no one from the coaching staff resembles the other guy in the pic. This may be a reach but the only person affiliated with the Jets at that time that even looks close to that guy is George Sauer Sr. who was director of player development but he looks too thin. Could it be one of Joe's brothers?

It could be him. Don't know about you all, but I never seen him w/out his glasses in the '80s & '90s and only ever (before finding these two pics) seen those brief shots of him on the sideline SBIII that have always been shown on ESPN & NFLN.

The "invitation only group" referenced in the article is shown in another photo and it is somewhere on-line. If I recall,
it shows Namath signing an autograph for an admiring "Motherly-type." There are about a dozen sportswriters shown
and most of them are ID'd.
Find it and you may have the answer.
Another option is to call the paper and put the onus of correction where it is deserved?

Why I am sure it's not Ryan is that guy is about 30lbs lighter, a couple of inches taller, he has less hair and as you said Ryan always wore his glasses so why would he not be wearing them in the photo?74_75_78_79_ wrote:It could be him.
