Roger. Craig.
If we mean names that most people (around "our" age group) would be familiar with (and not necessarily a talent level deserving of HoF induction) we could include:
Mark Bavaro, John Brodie, Joey Browner, Roman Gabriel, Mark Gastineau, L.C. Greenwood, Lester Hayes, Bert Jones, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Jim Marshall, Jake Scott, Fuzzy Thurston and maybe Andy Russel and either/both of the Rotes...
Coaches: Chuck Knox and George Seifert
I'm sure I missed several but I think most fans (greater than "casual fans") would know most of those guys.

And there a bunch of "newer" players in this article (from another thread):

I'll agree on Martin and gastineau not getting any hot traction baffles me to no end since they were both dominant for a timeBryan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2024 1:47 pm I remember the strange 'argument' for a player being "can you tell the history of the NFL without Player X?" It was brought up for Ken Stabler and others like him, and I think the gist of it is "do you remember Ken Stabler" as opposed to "do you think Ken Stabler had a HOF career?"
So, two guys I remember from my childhood days as being ubiquitous are Harvey Martin and Mark Gastineau. Now that the HOF is watered down, I'm surprised that neither of those DEs get any campaign votes for the Hall. What other name players come to mind for you?

Here's an obvious name for this thread I forgot about: The Fridge. I'd have thought he had more than 3 career jumbo package TDs, with how much it's still talked about.
