You never know, but of course the Hall is tough on tight ends. If Todd Christensen can't get in, feels like Giles would have had to do a ton.Brian wolf wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 1:20 pm Had Williams stayed in TB, maybe Giles makes the HOF? Re: BREAKING: contributor list down to 9
Well, we can picture what he could do with awesome receivers with Washington - Monk, Clark, and Sanders. And he threw 4 TDs in one quarter in the SB.Brian wolf wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 1:20 pm Had Williams stayed in TB, maybe Giles makes the HOF? I don't think Giles makes the HOF - not that he might not have been HOF worthy, but the HOF just doesn't have very many TEs per capita. Love that you brought up Kevin House an often-forgotten, quality WR.

Re: BREAKING: contributor list down to 9
For reference, the HOF website lists 9 TEs in the Hall:
Dave Casper 1974-1984
Mike Ditka 1961-1972
Tony Gonzalez 1997-2013
John Mackey 1963-1972
Ozzie Newsome 1978-1990
Charlie Sanders 1968-1977
Shannon Sharpe 1990-2003
Jackie Smith 1963-1978
Kellen Winslow 1979-1987
I would assume there would be 11 once Witten and Kelce would get in.

Ha! I knew there was another, because I'd noted that tight end is second to center for the longest you have to go back to get the last five modern inductees at a position, but that they soon would be very modern. Of course Gronk....can't believe I didn't think of him immediately. Gates should make the Hall, too.

Re: BREAKING: contributor list down to 9
Sanders was meant as a counterpoint: maybe the HOF isn't so tough on TEs.
