I think that's a rather harsh judgment, considering they outgained the Lions 411-262.
Outgained but not outscored---pretty sure Lions would take that trade-off every game.

Love's Inexperience showed at times. He'll have a bye week to rest that pulled groin. But even healthy I think GB's a 10-7 team.

I've been saying since game one, Lions vs. KC in Sooper Dooper Bowl. For that matter, Harris 51-46. Just call me Swami.

Defense for the Chiefs took an off-day. With this team, you have to wonder whats in store? A bunch of wins and a fizzle-out in the playoffs, or are they destined to three-peat? The networks love established winning stars and can Mahomes turn into another Brady, or can a younger QB finally get his team over the hump?
Could another veteran QB on a different team get hot at the right time?

Pro tennis crowned aging, great dinosaur players far too often and you hope it doesnt happen in pro football but Mahomes has his chance to win many SBs, no matter different players, injuries, parity or whatever. Everyone admires what the Chiefs have done and can still do but that doesnt mean fans wont get sick of it. Especially when no other players or teams can step up and change it, or even stay consistently good.

Damn! I thought I'd have me some bragging rights today - Chiefs losing their first game of the year, after an 8-0 start, at home to Denver. I predicted it on that preseason thread. But "almost" only counts in horseshoes. And is it ever such the case here considering that practically every game KC has won so far could have easily gone the other way.

But a win-is-a-win. Many ways to skin a cat in the ways of being a Champ, and this '24 Chiefs Installment is thus far doing it the way of the '72 Dolphins. Yes, plenty to go. Maybe they'll lose a few before January, never know, but so far so impressive. Finding a way to win close games is definitely an example of character and Andy Reid is sure making a 1990 Parcells out of himself!

Very impressive way for the 'Burgh to pull things out in DC! The 'W' was very much needed being that Cincy couldn't help us last Thursday. A possible more-than-a-game cushion over Baltimore to go into our meeting with them next week along with the serious toughness of the 2nd-half schedule to come (both Clev games are no shoe-ins either) was surely needed! Losing today would have made things even tougher for we would have been down a half-game instead. My guess is we lose next week but beat them in Baltimore as true rivalries usually go.

But such tough stuff to come! Two games vs Cincy! AT Philly, where we haven't won since '65, and KC on Christmas Day even at home...let's see.

As a Bronco fan, I don't know how this team is .500. They aren't that talented. I thought they would get smoked today. Something seems fishy (I wonder if the Walmart owners are influencing the other teams into not trying as hard or something. This Bronco team should be 1-8 on paper).

Denver started out strong, like a number of teams today but just fizzled in the second half. The Commanders--cant believe I am saying that name--had their chance to build the lead against Pittsburgh but lost a close one. Wilson can still throw but his running skills are gone. Hopefully he can keep the team momentum going with a huge game against Baltimore.

Alot of ho-hum games today, with the Vikings, 49ers, Falcons and now Lions struggling against lesser teams. Could it be an easy win tonight for the Texans without Nico Collins?

Tough day in Dallas as Lance finally gets to play. The Cowboys need to see what they have in this guy before moving on from him. No matter what happens, the Cardinals have been impressive and can give Gannon a chance at the playoffs. They still need to get the ball to Harrison Jr. more however, though McBride is Murray's security blanket.

Let's see what the Chiefs do when they have to face a contender. The only really serious team they've faced are the Ravens, and that was week 1. Since then, every opponent has either been borderline, a team we thought was good but has disappointed (49ers, Bengals), or just terrible. And most of those borderline to bad teams made their game with them closer than the already-close box scores indicate. Mahomes has finally started looking like he's not quite washed at 29, so it seems like they're getting better, but I still don't believe yet and think they're not long for the postseason no matter their final record. They've won multiple games by opponents just being outright stupid, and a better team than those will come right up and punch them in the mouth come playoff time.

Next week against the Bills is a good chance to get them a blowout loss, although Buffalo has been wildly inconsistent and has also managed to win several games they maybe shouldn't have. But unlike KC, they can also drop a 50 bomb on anyone any week and haven't gone under 30 in a month. I think they'll be too much to handle. After that, they get to take out the NFL's garbage for a while. I'd love to see them lose to Bryce Young.

DeAndre Hopkins looks like an addition that could put KC over the top for good this year. Now they have a real money guy taking up the spot that Hill left vacant. The blocked kick at the end of the game was awesome. I kept thinking, "They ought to kick on third down in case something bad happens." That was often the thought that the best coaches once used. Sure enough, it got blocked. Great job by the special teams. It's excessively difficult to win 9 straight games. Den/KC is a real rivalry, that's why I think Denver does well in those games - remember they beat KC last year.

I saw the end of Wash/Pitt - and a lot of mistakes by Wash at the end. I'm looking for the Eagles to take eventually control of that division and also eventually win the NFC. To me right now - at this point from what I've seen - I would predict an Eagles vs KC rematch. Who would win that is anybody's guess - that would be an excellent game.

Hopkins is one of the most overrated WR's ever. Empty stats in HOU/ARZ and I'm supposed to believe he's going to put them over the top?

Everything about KC feels fraudulent

Where would Hopkins rank among receivers for you these days?
