Post by SeahawkFever »

A couple fun facts for you all:

There are a total of three post merger teams that allowed the fewest yards per carry and the lowest passer rating in the same season:

1971 Colts
1991 Eagles
1995 49ers

All Pro players from those teams by the Associated Press:

1971 Colts

LDE Bubba Smith
RLB Ted Hendricks
FS Rick Volk

1991 Eagles:

LDE Reggie White
RDT Jerome Brown
RDE Clyde Simmons
LLB Seth Joyner
RCB Eric Allen

1995 49ers:

RDT: Dana Stubblefield
MLB: Ken Norton Jr.
LCB: Eric Davis
FS: Merton Hanks
SS: Tim McDonald

And there are a total of five post merger teams that produced the most yards per carry and the highest passer rating:

1988 Bengals
1992 49ers
1993 49ers
2001 Rams
2017 Saints

All pro players from those teams by the Associated Press:

1988 Bengals:

QB: Boomer Esiason
FB: Ickey Woods
WR: Eddie Brown
LT: Anthony Munoz

1992 49ers:

QB: Steve Young

None happened to win a championship following said season, but the core of the Niner and Ram teams did win it all in 1994 and 1999 respectively.
