I am trying to think of the best way to research / confirm something.
I was going through a 1997 UCLA football media guide and they identify Harry Thompson as having played guard on offense, then end, nose guard, and linebacker on defense in the NFL.
Is there an optimal way to confirm he played all these positions? Is it just reading game stories and hope the position(s) he played are mentioned?
Thank you.
Nick

Re: Positions Played - 1950's Ram
He definitely played LB and DE -- if he played nose or middle guard I don't recall it at least from 1950-52 ... would have to check
in any event it was not a lot of defense for him, no matter the position. He was mostly a guard who was backing up other positions. And he was on special teams most of the time ... would actually come in and play on DL on punt return, even if he was not playing defense that series.
I will keep an eye out if he shows up as a nose/middle guard ... as I said it's possible. But it would be so rare that I am not going to search for it -- but it may pop out not that I am aware of that claim. I was aware of the DE and LBr---
