While we're discussing historical won-lost records, I was updating my statistical databases over the weekend and came up with a few interesting tidbits of trivia. To date, the Rams franchise has a lifetime won-lost record of 533-533-21 for a .500 record. Also, if the Seahawks win their first two games of the 2015 season, they will have a lifetime regular season won-lost record of .500 for the first time in franchise history; they currently sit at 305-307-0. Along with th Seahawks, the only other current franchises not to ever have a tie are Jacksonville and the Houston Texans. Among current franchises from 1933 to present, the Cowboys have the highest lifetime winning percentage of .5743 (476-352-6) in the regular season, followed by Miami at .5652 and San Francisco at .5565. Lowest lifetime winning percentage since 1933 is Tampa Bay at .3848 (255-376-1) followed by the Carddinals at .4086 and the Houston Texans at .4231. Most career regular season wins since 1933 is the Bears with 627, followed by Green Bay at 617, the Giants at 599 and Steelers at 585. Most losses since 1933 is the Cards with 663, followed by Detroit at 614 and Eagles with 573. Since 1933, there have been a total of 13,688 regular season games between NFL, AFL and AAFC, with 192 ties, which means one game in 71 is a tie, but that number has been lowered considerably since the advent of OT. There have also been a total of 522 postseason games (including division tiebreakers in the pre-Super Bowl era) since 1933.

As franchises go (record at end of regular seasons only since 1933):

Ravens - went over .500 in 2004, slipped below in 2005, and has been above .500 since 2006

Bills - they were only above .500 between 1964 and 1968, and despite being a powerhouse in the late 80's and 90's, they never got the lifetime won lost record above .500

Bengals - Above .500 after 1976 and 1977 seasons, they were at .500 after the 1982 and 1986 seasons, and were above .500 between 1988-1990, but have been under .500 ever since.

Browns - have been above .500 their entire history.

Broncos - reached the .500 mark by the end of the 1996 season and have been above .500 since.

Texans - have never been above .500

Colts - were above .500 between 1961 and 1990, and between 2004 to present. Otherwise, they were below .500

Jaguars - were at .500 after the 1997 season, and were above .500 between 1998 and 2011

Chiefs - Were above .500 in 1960, finished at .500 after the 1961 season and have been above .500 since.

Dolphins - have been above .500 since 1972

Patriots - above .500 from 1961-68, and from 2006 to present.

Jets - finished .500 after each of their first two seasons, and were above .500 after the 1969 season, but have been below .500 since.

Raiders - have been above .500 since 1968

Steelers - have been above .500 since 2004

Chargers - have always been above .500 except for 1991 and from 1998-2008.

Oilers/Titans - have only been above .500 between 1960-65 and 67-69.

Cardinals - have never been above .500, and the highest their lifetime winning percentage was occurred after the 1984 season when they reached .4209.

Falcons - have never been above .500, their highest wl % was .4375 after the 2012 season.

Panthers - have only been above .500 after the 1996 and 1997 seasons.

Bears - have always been above .500 since 1933.

Cowboys - have been above .500 since 1969

Lions - above .500 between 1933 and 1946, and between 1953 and 1983.

Packers - below .500 after 1933 and 1934 seasons, but have been above .500 since.

Vikings - have been above .500 since 1971

Saints - have never been above .500, highest winning percentage was .4425 after the 2013 season

Giants - have always been above .500 since 1933

Rams - above .500 between 1951-1961 seasons, and 1969-2013. they were at .500 after the 2014 season

San Francisco - have always been above .500 between 1948 and 1978, fell below .500 in 1979 and 1980, and at .500 after the 1981 season. Slipped below .500 after the 1982 season and have been above .500 since.

Tampa Bay - have never been above .500, or .400 for that matter. Their highest lifetime winning percentage was .3987 after the 2010 season.

Redskins - were at .500 after the 1933 and 1934 seasons, went over .500 from 1937 to 1960 and after finishing at .500 after the 1975 season, have been above .500 since.

The Packers have never been below .500. They had 12 straight winning seasons leading up to 1933, when they had their first losing season. They then had 14 more winning seasons before falling below .500 in 1948.
