Week 12 1959 Steelers 35 Chicago 20

The Cardinals started the scoring with two field goals from Bobby Joe Conrad in the first quarter for a 6 to 0 lead. In the second quarter, the Steelers took over.

Bobby Layne ran nine yards for a touchdown. After that Layne fired three touchdown passes two to Buddy Dial for 35 and 11 yards and one to Tom Tracy for 16 yards. Pittsburgh led 28 to 6 at halftime. In the third period, King Hill threw for a 21 yard touchdown to Bobby Joe Conrad. Almost immediately, the Steelers countered with Bobby Layne throwing a 16 yard pass to Jimmy Orr.

After three periods, the Steelers led 35 to 13. Chicago against a Pittsburgh prevent defense scored a touchdown. King Hill passed to John David Crow for seven yards. Final Pittsburgh 35 Chicago Cardinals 20.

Bobby Layne completed 11 of 17 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns. King Hill completed 10 of 23 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Dick Alban for the Steelers intercepted two of Hill’s passes. Pittsburgh finished 6-5-1 and the Cardinals were 2-10.
