A Different "Century"

Post by oldecapecod11 »

2016 could mark a different type of "century" for two of the NFL's most legendary teams.
In franchise versus franchise competition, the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants could register 100 Wins
against a particular opponent.
The Bears are 96-69-5 versus the Detroit Lions and their previous Spartan franchise.
The Giants are 96-64-4 versus the Washington Redskins including their years in Boston.
Of course we have to wait and see what happens in 2015 but it is fascinating to think of 100 Wins versus the same team
when you have only played that team twice each season.

Not far behind with a chance to reach the same century mark is the Green Bay Packers. The Pack could do it in 2017.
Currently, the Green Bay record against the Detroit franchise is 95-67-7.

Talk about being on the negative side of history... poor Detroit.
Ever wonder how Ralph Branca felt? Probably a lot like Pete Carroll...
"It was a different game when I played.
When a player made a good play, he didn't jump up and down.
Those kinds of plays were expected."
